Only a minority now regularly visit a bank branch to check their account balance or make a transfer. And digital financial services are attracting widespread interest, while at the same time loyalty to one's own bank is dwindling. This was shown by a survey of 1,004 people in Germany aged 16 and over commissioned by the digital association Bitkom and presented today. It found that around three quarters of Germans (73 percent) use online banking , which is three percentage points more than a year ago. In 2014, just one in two people (53 percent) used their bank's online services. And currently a further 10 percent can imagine using online banking in the future. A look at the age groups also shows that only seniors aged 65 and over are hesitant about online financial transactions.
While only one in five (22 percent) of them use hong kong gambling data online banking, the figure is 9 out of 10 among 16 to 29-year-olds (88 percent) and 50 to 64-year-olds (87 percent). Among 30 to 49-year-olds, practically everyone (96 percent) uses online banking. "Online banking is no longer the exception in Germany, but the rule. Most people encounter their bank much more often in the digital world than in a bank branch or in person," says Bitkom CEO Dr. Bernhard Rohleder. "The corona pandemic has given a further boost to digitization in Germany. This development will also intensify in the financial world in the coming months."
