URL checking and request indexing 15 times per month

Post by Rina7RS »

August 29, 2019 4 weeks : Traffic dropped 9%
At this point I'm extremely frustrated because there are only about 150 pages left to be reindexed and no matter how many times I check and request a new index in search console it won't work.

These pages are perfectly capable of being indexed as reported by SC URL Check, but they are not being crawled. As a result, nearly a month later, we are still 9% below our baseline.

One particular page just refused to reindex. It was a high commercial value product page that I was counting on for conversions.

When I try to force a reindex, I try:

Update the publication date and then request indexing.
Update the content and publication date, then request indexing.
Resubmit your sitemap to SC.
Nothing works. This page will not reindex. Same thing happens with 100s of other URLs with less commercial influence.

Note: This page will not be re-indexed until October 1st, a full two months after it was de-indexed.

By the way, here is how our overall recovery is new zealand mobile database progressing after four weeks:

September 5, 2019 5 weeks : Traffic decreased by 10.4%
At this point we have re-indexed all pages except for about 150 that were “verified”.

It looks like we may fully recover, but the timing is in Google's hands and there's nothing I can do about it.

September 12, 2019 6 weeks: Traffic increased by 5.3%
It took us about six weeks to fully restore user traffic.

But the fact is that we still haven’t fully recovered our traffic because some content is performing beyond expectations, overcompensating for some pages that are not indexed yet. It’s worth noting that our product pages will not be indexed for about 2.5 weeks.
