Unqualified location

Post by fomayof928@mowline »

Don't make the mistake of believing that you can fully market your local business with a PO box or an unstaffed virtual office as your public address. Both of these will disqualify your company from creating local business listings, severely limiting your online visibility. If you don't have a physical office yet, use your home address and only list yourself in directories that allow you to hide your address if you have privacy concerns.

4. Unwanted location
You will likely only rank in Google’s local pack for the city chile number data are physically located in. If you are opening a location outside the borders of a major city you hope to serve, don’t expect to rank locally for major city searchers. If your business’s success depends on serving a major nearby city, having an office in that location is essential. To see Google’s perception of any city’s borders, look it up in Google Maps. Anything outside the red boundary is likely out of the running.

5. Filter sensitive location
In the past, it was considered best practice to locate your business alongside other businesses in the same industry (think doctor’s parks and auto queues). Being close to this “industry centroid” was considered beneficial for rankings. However, since Google’s Possum update rolled out in 2016 , a new business located within the same building or block as its competitors can filter itself out of local results. Because of this, you want to keep your business some distance from others in your geo-industry if possible. Depending on the layout of your city or town, this may or may not be possible.
