rust in data security on the Internet is recovering more and more every year: three out of ten Internet users (29 percent) believe that their personal data is safe on the Internet. In 2019, 27 percent said this, while in 2014 the figure was just 14 percent. However, two thirds of online users (68 percent) still believe that their personal data is not safe on the Internet. This is the result of a representative survey commissioned by the digital association Bitkom among 1,016 Internet users in Germany.
"After the NSA scandal became known in 2013, fantuan database users' trust in data security was shaken," says Bitkom President Achim Berg. "Regaining lost trust is not something that can be achieved overnight. Politicians are called upon to develop framework conditions for high data security. Companies have a duty to implement these requirements as best as possible and, in addition, to exploit the existing technological possibilities."
Bundestag deals with IT security and telecommunications
With the aim of increasing security for consumers, critical infrastructures and the federal administration, the Bundestag is today considering the IT Security Act 2.0 in its first reading. "An effective IT Security Act 2.0 requires innovation-friendliness, investment protection and legal certainty. The draft law falls well short of expectations on all three points," said Berg. Bitkom welcomes the fact that the Federal Office for Information Security is to be better equipped both in terms of personnel and finances.
Trust is gradually increasing
