Bitkom industry shows stable growth

Post by bhasan01854 »

Sales in the ICT market increased by 2 percent to 170.3 billion euros in 2019
Companies will create 42,000 additional jobs by the end of the year
The digital sector is defying the general trend and will be able to significantly increase its sales in 2019. The recession in German industry is not yet making itself felt in information technology and telecommunications (ICT) companies, but the outlook for 2020 is somewhat more cautious.

These are the key results of the current analysis of market data and economic asia gambling data surveys by the digital association Bitkom. According to Bitkom calculations, industry sales will increase by 2.0 percent to 170.3 billion euros in 2019. This even exceeds the already good expectations at the beginning of the year. Bitkom originally expected sales of 168.5 billion euros for this year.

The Bitkom-ifo digital index remained almost unchanged in July 2019 compared to the previous month at 24.2 points (-0.1). While the current business situation is declining (42.7 points, -3.3), business expectations have increased (7.1 points, +2.5). Bitkom expects employment to increase by 42,000 to 1.191 million jobs by the end of the year. In 2018, 51,000 additional jobs were created in the industry - more than at any time since 2000.

"The increasing digitization of the economy, state and society is driving growth in the Bitkom industry. The crisis in export-oriented industries has not yet had an impact on IT and telecommunications companies," says Bitkom President Achim Berg - and at the same time appeals to companies and administrations:

"Especially when the economic situation worsens, companies must review their processes and business models. They must become more efficient and thus more competitive and focus on the high-growth digital markets. Postponing the necessary investments in digitization now would be fatal. Now the motto must be: don't talk, do it. And digitize with all consistency and without any ifs and buts."
