'What would be your ideal job?' is the question that the Observatory of Innovation in Employment (OIE), promoted by Adecco, has launched for the second consecutive year to find out which aspects young Spaniards value most when looking for a job and what allows them to be happy in the work environment. Do you know what they answered? 7 out of 10 respondents acknowledge that what they value most to feel happy in their job is enjoying “a good working environment with colleagues” , compared to 17.6% who would be happy with “job security” and the remaining 12.6% find it when their responsibilities and skills in their job increase.

In fact, 64% say that salary is important, but it is not a fundamental aspect , while 25% say that it is what they value most. On the other hand, the remaining 11% give more importance to their professional career and the opportunities it offers them for professional growth.
Money is not the main incentive when choosing a job . Only 16% say that it is what they focus on the most. However, the possibility of professional development is the aspect that more than half of the young people surveyed value the most (61%). The remaining 22% opt for a job based on flexible hours.
But then, what would you like your dream job to be like? In addition to offering a good working environment, of the thousand young people under 30 years of age interviewed by the OIE, 42.3% say that it has to motivate them, followed by 29.3% and 28.4%, who would need the job to be “exciting” and “vocational” respectively. In addition, the size of the company matters: 59% of those surveyed would like to work in a large company “because there are more possibilities for internal promotion” , followed by 20.7% who would like to be their own boss and start their own business because they say it gives them “more opportunities to do what I really want”. The remaining 20.2% would choose an SME, saying that it is where “there are more opportunities to learn”.
