If autonomous cars are a daily occurrence on our roads, this would also help climate protection. At least that is what many people in Germany assume. More than half (54 percent) see the advantage of self-driving cars in that the environmental impact is reduced through lower fuel consumption because the optimal route is used at an adjusted speed. Only slightly fewer (49 percent) expect a better traffic flow for all vehicles in general - which would also benefit the environment. This is the result of a representative survey of 1,003 people in Germany aged 16 and over commissioned by the digital association Bitkom . "Connected mobility with autonomous vehicles means less stop-and-go in inner cities and adapted driving style outside of town. In this way, the resource consumption of motorized individual transport can be reduced," australia gambling data says Bitkom CEO Dr. Bernhard Rohleder. "Germany has just introduced a law on autonomous driving, with which it is taking a pioneering role in Europe and internationally. The question is no longer whether autonomous driving will come, but only when and how."

43 percent of the population also see the advantages of autonomous cars as less noise pollution due to the adapted driving style and more time for the driver to do other things such as office work or entertainment. Around a third (35 percent) expect more driving comfort. Only 3 out of 10 see an increase in safety as an advantage of autonomous car traffic: 29 percent expect more safety for other road users, 27 percent expect fewer accidents and 24 percent more safety for the occupants. Meinecke: "In fact, autonomous driving can largely prevent the main causes of traffic accidents: excessive speed and inattention on the part of the driver." A fifth (20 percent) think that autonomous cars reach their destinations faster. Almost as many (22 percent) cannot see any advantages of autonomous cars at all.
