Longevity Economy is one of the highlights

“Impact investing” was the most popular term during the 2025 World Economic Forum in Davos, held from January 20 to 24. To address global challenges and systemic risks related to socio-environmental and economic crises, this year’s annual conference addressed the theme “Collaboration for the Smart Era,” bringing together political leaders, business executives, academics, activists and civil society ceo email database representatives from around the world.

Far beyond financial returns, the forum proposed to discuss solutions, through public-private cooperation, to tackle climate change; the search for energy security; the impact of technology on economies and societies; and conflict resolution, promoting global cooperation.

In the long term, these issues have a significant impact on sustainability, with implications for future generations. Present at the event, consultant, activist and co-author of the book “A Nova Longevidade: Reinventando a Aposentadoria”, Ricardo Neves, told the Abrapp em Foco Blog that the theme of Longevity Economics was part of the discussions with valuable insights given its global relevance.

He led a workshop at the Social Innovation House, which received more than 1,750 participants throughout the week and promoted 39 sessions with 148 speakers, to raise awareness and facilitate development on the topic, supporting Brazilian society and especially economic actors in dealing with demographic challenges. At the event, the challenges and opportunities related to increased life expectancy and global demographic change were addressed.

“It is a challenge to think that humanity is on track to have a standard of living of 100 years. We have to delve deeper into this topic with pension funds, investors, insurance companies and asset managers, promoting a change in mentality considering the various stages of life,” said Neves.
