Backlit keyboard
The sound quality is quite good, and the built-in speakers can get very loud. Listening to music and watching movies on the Zenbook S 14 is generally a more enjoyable experience than on most other laptops, which is a nice plus for people who use their laptop for entertainment and not just work.
I tested the touchscreen version of the Zenbook S 14, which comes with the ASUS Pen 2.0. The stylus is smooth and precise, and it has different tip sizes for added precision when drawing on the sweden mobile database screen. The stylus automatically connects to your laptop, and you can use it right away to take notes, take screenshots, or as a remote control for your presentations by moving to the next slide in your PowerPoint file. While the stylus experience is good, there are two small drawbacks to consider: this laptop’s display can’t be laid out horizontally, and there’s no slot to attach the pen to the laptop. So you’ll have to carry it separately and be careful not to lose it.
You can use ASUS Pen 2.0 on models with a touch screen.
The webcam is located just above the display, next to two microphones. It records 1080p video at 30 frames per second and offers Windows Hello facial recognition . I found it to be very accurate at recognizing my face, and it did a great job of quickly unlocking the laptop. Video recording quality is decent, without setting any standards. It works well enough for joining video calls in Teams or Zoom , and Windows Studio effects work well enough. The microphones use AI-powered noise cancellation to ensure that others can hear you clearly during calls.
