All interested organizations that communicate the topic of cyber security to a broad audience in their own, particularly digital, formats in October 2020 can take part in the ECSM.
This can be done publicly, for example through lectures or webinars for private users or social media campaigns such as videos and streams, surveys and topic posts. But non-public campaigns such as raising awareness among employees can also be reported to the BSI as a measure within the framework of the ECSM.
The BSI itself is also participating in the ECSM band database with its own activities. There will be a virtual kick-off event for multipliers and interested citizens. The Alliance for Cyber Security , with the support of its advisory boards, will hold a virtual event for interested participants on October 1, 2020. The BSI is the national coordination body in Germany. The BSI has summarized detailed information on participation opportunities at www.bsi.bund.de/ecsm. Registration of activities is now possible there.
During the German Council Presidency, the BSI will also work to strengthen information security at EU level. This includes uniform minimum IT security requirements for all networked devices available on the European market, uniform minimum security standards in the certification framework of the Cybersecurity Act, and modern security technologies (secure elements) for identification and authentication.
