Before you think about an alarm system and other security technology , you should check the mechanical burglary protection. Stable locks, additional window and door security, burglary protection at rear entrances and light shafts lay the foundation for your security in your own four walls. For your own home, you should at least have level 2 security systems. If your house is in a remote area or in an area at risk of burglary, the police recommend level 3 security technology. All systems that are sold as level 1 burglary protection are not recommended because they offer little protection and therefore do not ensure your safety.

If you want to integrate security systems including self employed database video surveillance with motion detectors into your smart home, the police recommend a coherent system that is installed by a specialist. The best alarm system only works reliably if it has been professionally installed and implemented.

Is there a KfW subsidy for security systems?
The KfW has been actively promoting security technology that can prevent break-ins in advance for several years . Up to EUR 1,600 in funding is available for securing private homes, provided it is an existing building. To qualify for the funding, you must submit the application before purchasing and installing the security technology. All costs up to EUR 1,000 are subsidized by 20%, and all other costs by 10%. The maximum amount of KfW funding is the EUR 1,600 listed above. Tip: Not only security systems, but also burglar-proof front doors and security devices for windows, balconies and patio doors are eligible for funding.
