Many lost hours on the internet, a single brainstorm and some courage. Not much more was needed to come to 'Subtitle the Tyrant', Hivos' satirical online action that draws attention to the struggle of activists, artists and bloggers against dictatorial regimes.

With this campaign, Hivos wants to point out the importance of critical voices in a society. For example, the presence of satire is a good indicator of the degree of freedom in a country.
