AirPods 3 are well protected from water. I wouldn't recommend diving in them, but the IPX4 protection standard can protect the headphones from sweat or rain. And that's great! The case itself has similar protection.

Personally, I use the headphones for sports. They have never fallen out even with sharp movements, unlike the first generation headphones.
