As the years pass, Kyle has become John's right-hand man, and the . A double attack, both on the central server that houses Skynetand iTunes, and on a base housing a terrible secret weapon that Skynet is preparing to use...

John Connor rallies his troops and motivates them with the legendary pre-battle speech, in which he explains that blah blah blah big day blah blah die free blah blah blah slavery to Skynet after years of subjugation blah blah shitty life blah blah blah thanks Obama. So all humans are ready to go and blow Skynet's load.

And the operation goes surprisingly well! Because while John and Kyle attack the site of fax lists Skynet's secret weapon, the other team manages to blow up the enemy's servers... and all the robots suddenly collapse like common football players!

I've always liked this plot shortcut of bad guy armies collapsing when the leader is killed. It keeps things simple.

Our heroes can then run to the heart of the enemy base where they discover... a time machine!

"  We're too late," explains John Connor. "Skynet, knowing it was defeated, had time to use it and send a Terminator into the past... to kill my mother! "

But how does John Connor know all this? Well, it's simple: John Connor lived through Terminator 1 and 2 (forget 3 and 4, which apparently the director also chose to do, we understand), namely, for those who don't know, that in Terminator 1, Skynet sends a T-800-type robot with Schwarzi's appearance into the past to kill Sarah Connor, John Connor's mother, before the leader of the resistance is born. Which is called dying in the bud, huhu...hem, yes, well, it's okay, eh! This spoiler cost me two PC, so I'm allowed, ah but. Except that John Connor sends Kyle Reese into the past to save his mother. Which he does, before sleeping with the woman and then dying (but the two are not related, calm down gentlemen, wipe that bead of sweat on your forehead)... making him the father of John Connor! Then, in Terminator 2, Skynet sends a liquid metal T-1000 into the past that can change its appearance to kill John Connor while he was still a teenager. The Resistance sends a reprogrammed T-800 to protect its leader, which is done successfully.
