Are you up for it?

Not long ago we read a very interesting post by my colleague Uxía about the cognitive benefits that physical exercise can bring to learning. If you missed it, you have the chance to catch up by clicking here .
Reading it, I couldn't help but smile at seeing myself reflected in the article, as it brought to mind numerous moments when, while spending time at the gym or hitting the road during a running session, I took the opportunity to practice, mainly listening skills, some language I was preparing at that moment.
My reason? Well, initially, to save time and kill two birds with one stone, given the list of colombia cell phone numbers hectic pace of life we lead.
Today, numerous studies support the theory that exercising after a study session helps memorize the concepts studied, since it stimulates the brain.
We can also use the time dedicated to physical activities to work on certain skills through various resources. As part of our virtual language immersion plan, I am going to suggest some of them.
Listening to music. Well, I probably won't tell you anything new, right? Because it's the most obvious one. Personally, listening to music helps me a lot when I train, because it motivates me and entertains me in equal parts. If we do it in the language we're studying, then we've already laid the first stone. To get the most out of it, I recommend listening to something at your level. Don't start studying English and put on Metallica at full blast, start with something more accessible.
Audiobooks. Another good option for working on your ear at the gym, for example. Again, I repeat my recommendation: let's be realistic and select material that is suited to our level. Where can we get them? Well, in many places, for example, here .
Podcasts. One of the most popular language learning resources today, you won't find it difficult to find a wide selection of podcasts that suit your needs: language and level. Spend a little time and choose the one or ones that you really like, that you find engaging,... This will allow you to enjoy the sessions more and reduce the potential laziness that can sometimes affect us. There are many options available to you, such as ivoox or iTunes.
Movies . For this, we will have to be doing some physical activity without too much movement, such as the stationary bike, the elliptical or the treadmill, and preferably, with some element of support for your device, since otherwise, we risk being left without it. If you go to the gym, you surely know someone who has a reputation for being weird because they keep making strange faces while exercising, right? In mine, that's me, when I watch my favorite series.
I think I earned that well-deserved fame when I started watching Game of Thrones on film.
Review your Skype sessions. When we started this series of recommendations, we talked about the importance of finding someone to practice speaking skills, and we discussed the possibility of doing so with Skype. Well, for some time now, this tool has incorporated the ability to record your communications with others, so watching them again will become a great review exercise so you can examine those aspects to improve and avoid in the future.
Well, it doesn't seem like a bad idea, right? Of course, keep in mind that these practices are compatible with some gym machines as we mentioned before and with some individual sports. Don't listen to an audiobook while you're playing a basketball game or trying to improve your personal best for the 100 meters,... And remember that the final decision is always in your hands, since we don't intend to be responsible for your team's latest defeat or for you breaking the touch screen of your mobile phone ;P
Well, what... do you dare to be the intellectual of the bikini operation?
