Over the years we have published many articles, clearly all related to digital marketing . We realized, however, that we have never mentioned anything about "how we got here", the transformation of the classic marketing model that led to the new "digital" vision. Let's approach it from the point of view of a company.

“Digital transformation is a process of adapting a product offering, which, by exploiting digital technologies, brings the product offering closer to user demand.”

A curious example that can be found in several European countries concerns russian mobile list telephone booths and their transformation: from useless public telephones to public routers, from which it is possible to purchase a temporary connection. Similar cases demonstrate how a product in complete crisis, that of public telephones, has transformed itself by exploiting digital technologies (wireless internet connection) to get closer to the demand of users: an internet connection in case of need.

Digital transformation is closely connected to the business model . To stay true to the example of telephone booths, where telephone companies had until then purchased devices that were only able to make phone calls, after this transformation it became necessary to install devices that could connect and make others connect to the network. But not only that, the processes are more: they range from the purchase of raw materials, to processing, to the transportation of the finished product, etc. When digital technologies intervene in these processes (e.g. software that manages each step), then digital transformation is being implemented.
