If you buy Korean cosmetics, you’ve probably come across the term “ hanbang ” on some product, right? HANBANG 한방 means “ oriental medicine ” and is part of Korean histor (Seoul K-medi Center) in Dongdaemun.

I had the chance to experience Seoul K-Medi Center through Visit Seoul ’s Global Seoul Mates program (I’ve talked about the program here ). Due to social distancing restrictions, we attended in groups of 5 people with advance reservations.



The experience began with 3 very friendly old ladies (most of the employees are senior citizens) preparing a mix of traditional herbs for bath salts. I was able to choose the color of the packaging and they prepared the mix of herbs for me on the spot. One of them told me that her son lives in São Paulo when he found out that I am Brazilian. The world is so small!
