Thanks to new data from Alexa (Amazon's subsidiary) and the analysis of our compatriot @Vincos, who has been taking the trouble to do it since 2009, this year too we are able to draw an almost global map of the development of different social networks in the world.
Facebook, which reached 1.89 billion monthly users at the beginning of 2017, is the favorite social network "only" in 119 of the 149 countries analyzed: in the last year, Zuckerberg's jewel has had to retreat usa email list in 9 territories: in 5 it was stopped by Odnoklassniki , in 2 by Vkontakte and in another 2 by LinkedIn . It is also curious to discover that in some "minor" states, such as Botswana, Mozambique, Namibia, Iran and Indonesia, interest in its "cousin" Instagram prevails and that in some areas of Africa LinkedIn even wins.
VKontakte and Odnoklassniki (both part of the Russian Mail.ru group) are increasing their presence in Soviet territories, also thanks to state restrictions on the storage of sensitive data. Within the Chinese “closed system” QZone remains in power and in Japan Twitter continues to prevail (even if here the massive presence of social networks used only on mobile devices makes detection more difficult).
