Adobe Software: What is the difference between CS and CC?
Thanks to the constant connection of the "CC" version with the cloud , we constantly gain new updates to our software and can automatically save our projects to the cloud, this is currently the only version of the software supported by Adobe. However, we can still meet, for example, the Photoshop CS6 application. This version does not receive any new updates, is not associated with Creative Cloud and can be easily purchased on a disc. The main difference between these two versions is the method of payment, the Creative Suite (CS) version can be purchased once for a larger amount and enjoy them forever, while Creative Cloud (CC) can only be purchased in the form of a monthly subscription , which is convenient for many, because they do not have to spend several thousand zlotys at once for a package of several programs. Adobe focused on monthly payments, which is why the CS6 version, introduced in 2012, is the last, newest version.

But back to the topic of Adobe XD
Adobe XD is a tool in which we can easily and intuitively create all kinds of projects not intended for printing , such as layouts: a website, an online store, a mobile application, mailing, simple graphics for social media or static web banners. In addition, we can design simple animations based on transitions between workspaces or reactions to hovering the cursor. Adobe XD is equipped with a minimalist, clear interface, divided into:

I. Prototype
Adobe XD - prototyp
This section is dedicated to prototyping , this is where we can connect our artboards, design simple transition or hover animations.

1. Interaction-oriented workspace
As you can see, after selecting any element or artboard, a blue arrow appears, thanks to which we can choose where we will be guided after clicking the selected element. Just drag the cursor to another artboard to create an interaction.

2. Main Prototyping Toolbar
This part is also changing, now we can, after defining the transition path, indicate what will activate the transition (trigger), it can be clicking on a given element, hovering over it, swiping, or even a voice command. In addition, we can set animation parameters such as duration or type of transition.

II. Share
Adobe XD - Share
In this section, we focus on exporting our project, as a link. On the right side, we define the name of our layout, choose the type of prototype we want to create (whether it is to be a presentation version, e.g. for a client, or a development benin telemarketing data version for programmers), we can also define who will have access to our prototype.

As you can see, using this software is relatively simple and does not require months of study, which is definitely one of the main advantages of this program, but it also has its drawbacks - you can read more about them in one of our previous posts - Adobe XD and responsive website design . Professional websites Wrocław often use Adobe XD to create interactive prototypes that can be easily shared with clients and developers.

Who is Adobe XD for?
Adobe XD - for whom?
Adobe XD software is designed for anyone who is just starting out with UI/UX design , as well as advanced users. It is a great solution for creating both simple websites - business cards, and advanced systems. It is especially worth considering for people who already use the Adobe suite, because this application is well integrated with other programs, such as Photoshop or Illustrator, and it is also included in the full Adobe suite.

How much does Adobe XD cost? The price of the program and the CC package
If we only want to use this program, it costs $9.99 per month , but it is much more profitable to use the full package of all Adobe applications (if we use them, of course), because it will then cost us $52.99/month for over 20 applications.

Are there any alternatives to Adobe XD?
Of course, more and more programs are appearing on the market that allow you to design interfaces and experiences. These include:

Figma
It is free software that can be used both through the native application and directly from the browser.

AxureRP
Software used by many so-called giants. It is a highly developed tool that also allows you to design complex websites or mobile applications. It gives you more possibilities in terms of animations and interactions than Adobe XD, but it is also much more expensive, because it will cost you $25 per month for a single-user package.

Sketch
This is an application designed only for computers with the MacOS system, visually very similar to AxureRP, but priced closer to Adobe XD - it will cost us $9 per month.

To sum up Adobe XD...
Adobe XD is a program that allows you to design any more or less complex interfaces and graphics that are not intended for printing . Thanks to its clarity and development, this program is intended for both advanced users and those who are just starting their adventure with web design. It has both its advantages and disadvantages, although I think that the price to quality ratio is very good , so I personally recommend this software to everyone. Modern websites in Wrocław are often designed using Adobe XD, which, thanks to its functionality, makes it easier to create interactive layouts.
