What is an Instagram story?
The Instagram Stories feature was introduced on August 2, 2016 and is based on the almost identical feature of instant messaging competitor Snapchat. As a feature, Instagram Stories offer more space for longer posts that disappear after 24 hours , automatically move to Instagram's own archive, and are created in a vertical format (9:16) . They are very practical for sharing content such as announcements, reflections, or advertising, which should not remain in the feed. Instagram Stories are located in the feed in the top bar next to your profile picture.

How to create a story on Instagram?
The great thing about Instagram Stories is that creating them is easy and intuitive. All you have to do is decide what content you want to share with your followers and get started, either by recording and posting a video via Instagram's camera feature or by uploading videos and photos from your device's memory. Stories can be edited with different stickers, hashtags, tags or filters before posting. The length of Instagram Stories, whether with photo or video content, can be a maximum of 90 seconds from the end of 2021. While previously longer videos were divided into 15-second segments, you can now post stories without subdivision.

Note
For Instagram Stories, you should also respect the image sizes recommended by Instagram for optimal image quality. For Stories, full screen mode of 1080 x 1920 pixels in vertical 9:16 format is recommended.

Step 1. Open the app and swipe right. Alternatively, tap the “+” symbol at the top of the screen. In both cases, you’ll see a menu with the options “Post,” “Story,” “Reel,” and “Go Live.” Tap or swipe on “ Story .”
